Induction Programme 2018-19 for B.Pharm


Induction program for First Year B. Pharm. was started at 10 am on 10 th august 2018 in auditorium with the distribution of kit. The comparer of the program Ms. Moumita Roy and Ms. Anamika Sisodia welcomed Principal Dr. K. G. Bothara, Vice Principal, Dr. C. R. Kokare & Dr. M.D. Burande, Director, IPER, Pune. The function was started with Saraswati Poojan by lightening the lamp. The programme was followed by address by Principal Dr. K. G. Bothara. The next session was started with passionate speech about challenges in pharmacy profession by Dr. M. D. Burande.

The next lecture was delivered by Prof. R. D. Patankar Principal Abhinav College of Pharmacy, Pune. He explained the opportunities in Pharma industry.

After lunch, session started with briefing by Vice Principal Dr. C. R. Kokare about STES society and academic culture, followed by an insight into new examination pattern as per PCI Syllabus.

The lecturer was further followed by Dr.Shirish B.Deshpande, Technical director, Techno Vision Life Care Solution, Pune. The program was further followed by felicitation of toppers of B.Pharm and M.Pharm. The induction program was concluded with vote of thanks by Ms. Moumita Roy. Tea and snacks was served to the students after the vote of thanks.

 

Yoga day


Date: 21/06/2018 Time 3.30 to 06.00 PM Venue: Industry Lab.

International Yoga Day was celebrated with great zeal on 21 st June 2018. All staff members were present for celebration. Everybody was instructed to wear loose costumes so that asans could be performed at ease. Dr. T.L.Devale SIOP, Narhe gave introduction of Dr. Hemant Jain to all staff member.

Dr. Hemant Jain of SCOP, Vadgaon was main instructor for this day. He had explained the importance of Yoga in life of young as well as old one. Yoga was started with slow and then fast warming up. He had demonstrated 20 types of Asanas with their importance. Following Asnas were demonstrated and performed by all step by step.

Asanas were Yoga Mudra, Surya Namaskar, Adimudra,Vishnu Mudra,Shashankasan,Sarwangasan,NasikaMudra,butterfly,Matsasan, Chitkari,Swanswasan,Wyahgraswasan, Shavasan and at the end Sinh garjana. Types of pranayam performed by all staff member were Bhastrika, Kapalbharti and Alulomwilom.

Everyone was satisfied with the Yoga and determined to do the same at home. The programme ended at 06.00 PM with vote of thanks by Prof. Shraddha Tathe.

Farewell Function of Final Year M. Pharm and B.Pharm was started at 11.00am on May 14, 2018 in auditorium. The comperer of the programme Ms. Arti Gite and Mr. Kamlesh Kulkarni welcomed Chief Guest Dr.Shalaka Dhat Principal Dr. K.G.Bothara and Vice Principal Dr. C.R.Kokare.

The function started with Saraswati poojan by lightening the lamp. The farewell function was further addressed by chief guest Dr. Shalaka Dhat she explained the recent updates on Pharmaceutical Industry, need of development and up gradation of knowledge. The function was further addressed by Dr K.G Bothara Principal he shared his experience; He also encouraged students with his words of wisdom. The program was further followed by video clip of memories made by B.Pharm and M.Pharm student

The Best Outgoing student award of B.Pharm was given to Mr.Tejas Bhalerao and M.Pharm was given to Ms. Surpiya Nanekar based on her excellence in examinations and participation in curricular and extracurricular activities

Program was concluded with vote of thanks by Ms. Heer Joshi (B.Pharm third year) and was followed by group photo session and refreshment.

 

Teacher Day Celebration


Teacher day was celebrated by final year B. Pharm students on Monday, 4th September 2017. Students took the academic schedule (Theory and practical) as per regular time table on same day. Teacher day programme was organized in auditorium hall at 4.00pm.

The programme was inaugurated with Saraswati poojan at the hand of Principal Dr. K. G. Bothara Sir, Vice- Principal Dr. C. R. Kokare Sir and heads of the different departments. Students of M. Pharm and B. Pharm shared their views about teachers and their role in building the career of students on the eve of teacher day. Mesmerizing short movie clip prepared by the students of Final Year B. Pharm which was dedicated to all SIOP teachers. Certificate distribution programme to runner up and winners of Poster Painting and Quiz Compitition was done at the hand of Vice- Principal Dr. C. R. Kokare and Prof. M. K. Aswar. The Best Student Teacher award for 4th September 2017 was given to Miss. Deeksha Chaskar by our Principal Dr. K. G. Bothara Sir. Principal Dr. K. G. Bothara addressed the all students regarding the history behind teacher day celebration and importance of this day.

The vote of thanks was conveyed by Miss. Pranita Kadam, student of Final Year B. Pharm. The whole proagrmme has been hosted by Mr. Ashwin Shetke and Miss. Pooja Burra of Final year B. Pharm. This programme was organized under the guidance of Prof. Arun M. Kashid, Class Teacher of final year B. Pharm and Dr. A. A. Tagalpallewar, M. Pharm Co-Ordinator.

 

EVS Excursion Report SEM III (2017-18)


For the fieldwork in environmental awareness and being a part of B.Pharm curriculum, one day excursion was planned to Mulsi - Tamhini on Saturday, 23rd September 2017. The field visit was started at 7.20 am in the morning from Sinhgad Institute of Pharmacy, Narhe campus. There were 104 students accompanied with six staff members of SIOP namely Prof. A. A. Bidkar, Prof. A. S. Bansode Prof. Mrs. Kaynde Puranik, Prof. Mrs. S. S. Gaikwad, Mrs. S. V. Tate, Mr. Ankush Beldare, Mr. B. S. Bansode, and Mr. S. S. Pawar along with EAST members Dr B. R. Mardikar, & Dr. Swapnil Sheth.

First of all, on the way to Western ghat, Mr. Sharad Gund ,the Excusion team member informed about the different form and types of snakes and explained how important they are to the nature. They enlightened the students with all the information related to their identification, habitat and living.

Then the students were taken to the Devrai of Westernghat, Dr B. R. Mardhikar and Dr. Swapnil Seth showed the medicinal plants present there. He discussed the uses of medicinal plants by tribals and villagers. And also demonstrated the various preliminary phytochemical tests to identify the various secondary metabolites present in the plants like Satwin, Nirgudi, Shankhapushpi. All the students enjoyed the nature walk with the Excursion team in jungle. Dr. Mardikar sir gave information regarding the wild life present there.

Then the students were taken to Mulsi Dam. The lunch was also arranged in water front. Dr B. R. Mardikar shared the knowledge of nearby nature with students. After lunch the all travelled to Tamihini ghat to see the ancient valley. While going to Tamhini, the students were shown Adivasi Pada, there students were asked to discuss with Adiwasi regarding their health and problems. Old clothes were distributed to the adiwasi by the students.

Students cleared their doubts by asking questions to the Professors. The trip was definitely enriched the knowledge about flora and fauna of Western ghat of Maharashtra. The students also enjoyed unlimited lunch and breakfasts. It was an interesting and enjoyable visit to nature. At 8.30 pm all the students reached the college campus safely.

Farewell Function of Final Year B. Pharm and M. Pharm were started at 4pm on April 24, 2017 in college auditorium. The comperes of the programme Ms. Shruti and Mr. Tejas welcomed Principal Dr. K. G. Bothara, Vice Principal C. R. Kokare and Academic Co-Ordinator Dr. P. B. Miniyar, all faculties and non teaching staff.
The faculty members guided the student regarding the future prospective and also shared their experiences. Student s representatives of T.Y. and Final Year B.Pharm and M.Pharm Ms. Meghna, Mr. Ashwin ,Mr. Ruturaj, Ms. Deeksha , Mr. Omkar , Mr. Shubham and Ms. Hrudaya shared their experience and views regarding college, faculties and overall infrastructure provided by founder president and the research culture developed in Sinhgad Institute of Pharmacy.
The program is further continued with the video clips prepared by final year B. Pharm and M. Pharm student in which students shared their photographs of NSS activity, Achievement, and Extracurricular Activities. Then the GPAT students were felicitated by Dr. K. G. Bothara and Dr. C. R. Kokare.
The Best Outgoing student award of final year B. Pharm was given to Mr. Abhishek Deshmukh and M.Pharm Ms. Hrudaya Shende based on their excellence in examinations and participation in curricular and extracurricular activities.
The farewell function was further addressed by Dr. K. G. Bothara Principal and Dr. C. R. Kokare, Vice Principal. They explained the recent updates on Pharmaceutical Industry, need of development and upgradation of knowledge, carrier opportunities in the field of pharmacy and need of higher education in present scenario of pharmaceutical industry. Program was further followed by vote of thanks by Ms. Krutika, photo session and refreshment to all students.

Under NSS scheme SIOP adopted village Jambulwadi and Kolewadi for all round development of village. Special winter camp was held during 14th to 20th January 2017 in the village Kolewadi. Dr. K.G. Bothara principal SIOP inaugurated winter camp; Prof. R. D. Patankar Principal of Abhinav college of Pharmacy Narhe, Pune was chief guest. During the camp various activities were conducted as health checkup camp, water harvesting. Gram swachyata, Computer literacy, Cultural programme, Yoga and morning exercise, Value education, Family welfare programme. Winter camp was successful under guidance of Prof. A. S. Bansode, Program Officer NSS of SIOP, Prof. S. S. Gaikwad Madam and 29 NSS student volunteers.

Induction program for First Year B. Pharm. and M. Pharm. Sem - I students began on 11th august 2016 at 9.30 am in the auditorium with the distribution of Induction kits. The Compere of the programme Mr. Shubham Khot and Ms. Hrudaya Shende welcomed the Chief Guest Dr. M. D. Burande, Principal, Siddhant College of Pharmacy, Sudumbre, Pune, Principal Dr. K. G. Bothara, Vice Principal, Dr. C. R. Kokare and Dr. P. B. Miniyar.
The function commenced with Saraswati Poojan by lighting of the lamp. This was followed by the Principal Dr. K. G. Bothara's address.
Dr. M. D. Burande, in his talk, focussed on never ending opportunities in Pharmacy. The next motivational lecture was delivered by Mr. N. B. Gund. This was followed by an address from Prof. U. S. Bagul Faculty, College of Pharmacy, Jazan University, Saudi Arabia, on scope of pharmacy overseas .
Next was an address by the academic incharge Dr. P.B. Miniyar, Academic Incharge. He briefed the importance of content of syllabus and its relevance in pharmaceutical industry.
After lunch, session started with briefing by Vice Principal Dr. C. R. Kokare about STES society, academic culture and an insight into new examination pattern. This was followed by Mr. Manoj Aswar's address on Guidelines on Professional Etiquettes.
After this the toppers from B.Pharm and M.Pharm were Felicitated.
The session concluded with a passionate lecture by Dr. Atul Dadhe CEO, Institute for Care of Occupational Health, Pune. He shared different job opportunities in pharma sector as well as power of pharmacy profession and its scope.
Ms.Akansha Gupta concluded the Induction program with a vote of thanks.

Mad Add Competition under SPECTRUM was arranged by management colleges under Sinhgad Karandak 2016 on 06/2/2016 at Vadaaon campus. SIOP team won runner up cash prize of Rs. 4000/-among 48 participating teams.

Under this Pharma Tech Fest four events Out of Box, Logic to Magic, Eureka, Simulation- 3D Model Making Competition were organized. Out of Box an innovative Advertisement Competition was organized on 13th January 2016 at SCOP Vadgaon (Bk), SIOP team was winner in Out of Box, Research project, Eureka Simulation 3-D model Making event and Runner in Out of Box event and received cash prize awards for winner .Event Out of Box was organized by STES s Sinhgad Institute of Pharmacy Narhe and coordinators were Prof. Mrs. Swapnila Shinde and Prof. Mr. Jignesh Parekh

Induction program for First Year B. Pharm. and M. Pharm. Sem. I students was started at 10 am on 3rd August 2015 in auditorium with the distribution of kit. The comparer of the programme Ms. Shrutika Shinde and Ms. Supriya Deshmukh welcomed Principal Dr. K. G. Bothara, Vice Principal, Dr. C. R. Kokare and Dr. P. B. Miniyar. The function was started with Saraswati Poojan by lightening the lamp. The programme was followed by address by Principal Dr. K. G. Bothara. First speaker was Dr B.R.Mardikar. He focused on never ending opportunities in Pharmacy. The next lecture was delivered by Prof. U. S. Bagul Faculty, College of Pharmacy, Jazan University, Saudi Arabia, on Go through life or grow through life .
After lunch, session started with briefing by Vice Principal Dr. C. R. Kokare about STES society and academic culture, followed by an insight into new examination pattern and credit system by College Examination Officer Dr. P. B. Miniyar. The lecture was further continued with Prof. Manoj Aswar on Guidelines on Professional Etiquettes.
Mr. Sudhir Phatak as Chief Guest for the valedictory function distributed certificate of academic excellence to top rankers from every year. Mr. Sudhir Phatak spoke on power of pharmacy profession and its scope. The induction program was concluded with vote of thanks by Ms. Supriya Deshmukh.

Farewell Function of Final Year B.Pharm and M. Pharm were started at 4pm on April 02, 2016 in college auditorium with Saraswati Poojan by lightening the lamp. The programme was followed by speech of Dr. P. B. Miniyar, Prof. B. U. Salve and Dr. Deepti Khanvilkar.
The faculty members guided the student regarding the future prospective and also shared their experiences. Third year B. Pharm Student Mr. Omkar Kolhe shared his experience about seniors then M. Pharm Sem II students Ms. Akansha Gupta shared her feeling about seniors. B. Pharm Final Year Student Mr. Sagar Dagadkhair, Mr. Ajay Bahot andM. Pharm SEM IV students. Mr. Manoj Ingale and Ms. Prity Aragade shared their remembrances.
The program was further continued with the video clips prepared by final year B. Pharm and M. Pharm student in which students shared their photographs of NSS activity, Achievement, and Extracurricular Activities. Then the GPAT students were felicitated by Dr. C. R. Kokare and Dr. P. B. Miniyar.
The Best Outgoing student award of final year B. Pharm was given to Ms. Prajakta Rai and M.Pharm Mrs. Supriya Deshmukh based on her excellence in examinations and participation in curricular and extracurricular activities.
The farewell function was further addressed by Dr. C. R. Kokare Vice Principal and Dr. K. G. Bothara Principal. and explained the carrier opportunities in the field of pharmacy and need of higher education in present scenario of pharmaceutical industry. They also encouraged students with his words of wisdom.
The scheduled standing comedy were started by Mr. Ashok Desmukh, he gave informative talk on stress management, different exercise for fitness and also shared his thought on personality development and communication skill.

Under NSS scheme SIOP adopted village Jambulwadi and Kolewadi for all round development of village. Special winter camp was held during 6th to 12th December 2014 in the village Jambulwadi. Dr. K.G. Bothara principal SIOP inaugurated winter camp, Dr Sampada Joshi Principal of Sinhgad college of Arts and commerce Narhe, Pune was chief guest.

During the camp various activities were conducted as health checkup camp, water harvesting. Gram swachyata , Computer literacy, Cultural programme, Yoga and morning exercise, Value education, Family welfare programme. Winter camp was successful under guidance of Prof A.S. Bansode in charge of NSS activity of SIOP.

All staff members of Sinhgad Institute of Pharmacy gathered together at 12 noon in SIOP campus to pay tribute to the victims of 26/11 terror attack In Mumbai. Two minutes silence was observed with lightening of lamp by principal sir, faculty and some students of NSS. Pawan Bansod of Final year B.Pharm gave speech.

World Pharmacist Day


The World Pharmacist Day was celebrated in the Auditorium of Sinhgad Institute of Pharmacy.

The programme commenced at 2.00 pm by lighting of lamp by Dr. Gauri P. Godbole, M. D. (Pulmonary Medicine, Professor & Head, SKN Medical College & Hospital, Narhe, Pune), Dr. K. G. Bothara (Secretary of Association), Dr. C. R. Kokare , Dr. P. B. Miniyar (Treasurer of Association), Mr. Dinesh Choudhary (Alumni 2009 batch, Scientific Business Officer, Dr. Reddy s Lab) and Mr. Ashish Belsarkar Scientific Business Officer, Dr. Reddy s Lab).

Ms. Deepali Divate introduced Dr. Gauri P. Godbole as a chief guest for the function. Dr. K. G. Bothara welcomed Dr. Gauri P. Godbole, Mr. Dinesh Choudhary and Mr. Ashish Belsarkar presenting them with a bouquet.

Dr. Gauri P. Godbole madam briefed the house about causes, etiology and prevention of asthama. She enlightened the audience about healthy lifestyle.

Dr. C. R. Kokare and Dr. P. B. Miniyar explained the importance of Pharmacist in the healthcare system as well as in the society. In their talk both the speakers highlighted various avenues available for the pharmacists and the challenges ahead to survive in the global competition.

Mr. Omkar Kolhe, B. Pharm. student also expressed his thoughts on this occassion.

A Pulmonary Function Test camp was arranged for students and staff member of SIOP in association with Dr. Reddy s Lab. The PFT tests were performed on 50 students and staff members. Of which 05 cases of Asthama were identified and counselling was offered as regards to further treatment.

A blood glucose detection camp was organized for the staff members of SIOP in association with Dr. U. M. Aswar, Asst.Prof - Pharmacology cology Dept. A total of 25 staff members checked their post prandial blood glucose levels.

Dr. K. G. Bothara felicitated Mr. Dinesh Choudhary by Memento as a token of love for successful arranging the PFT camp. The Overall program was co-ordinated by Dr. P. B. Miniyar in association with Ms. Deepali Divate, Prajakta Kulkarni, Chinmay Vhora and Ajinkya Khavade. The function was attended by B. Pharm & M. Pharm. students and teaching faculty members.

Teacher day programme was coordinated by final year B. Pharm students on Saturday, 5th September 2015. Students took the responsibility of the academic schedule (Theory and Practical) as per regular time table. Teacher s felicitation program was organized in auditorium hall at 4.00pm.
All teachers were felicitated by students by offering roses and pens as a token of love, gratitude and respect. The program was inaugurated with Saraswati poojan at the hand of our Principal Dr. K. G. Bothara Sir, Vice-principal Dr. C. R. Kokare Sir and heads of the different departments. Students of M. Pharm and B. Pharm shared their views about teachers and their role in building the career of students on the eve of teacher day. Mesmerizing short movie clip prepared by the students of Final Year B. Pharm which was dedicated to all SIOP teachers. The best student teacher award for 5th September 2015 was given to Ms. Krutika Vengurlekar by our Vice-principal Dr. C. R. Kokare Sir. Best Teacher Award for AY 2014-15 was given to Dr. Urmila M. Aswar by the hands of Principal Sir. The program was concluded with the speech of Principal Sir.
The vote of thanks was conveyed by Miss. Shivanjali More, final year B. Pharm. The whole program has been hosted by Mr. Rohit Munot and Ms. Prajakta Rai, final year B. Pharm. This program was organized under the co-ordination of Prof. A. M. Kashid, Class Teacher of final year B. Pharm and Dr. A. A. Tagalpallewar, M. Pharm Co ordinator.

Pharmacy colleges under the aegis of STES organized a Pharma Tech Fest: Bravura 2015 for Pharmacy students. Under this Pharma Tech Fest four events Out of Box, Logic to Magic, Eureka, Simulation- 3D Model Making Competition were organized. Out of Box an innovative Advertisement Competition was organized on 17th January 2015 at SCOP Vadgaon (Bk), SIOP team was winner in Out of Box event among 6 teams and received cash prize award of Rs. 3000/- Event was organized by STES s Sinhgad Institute of Pharmacy Narhe and coordinators were Prof. Mrs. Swapnila Shinde and Prof. Mrs. Shalaka Dhat

Induction program for 1 st year B. Pharm. and M. Pharm. students commenced at 10 am on 08 th August 2014 in the auditorium with the distribution of Induction Kits. The comperes , Mr. Vinay Yenna and Ms. Dipali Divate, welcomed Principal Dr. K. G. Bothara, Vice Principal, Dr. C. R. Kokare and Dr. P. B. Miniyar. The function started with Saraswati Poojan. The programme was followed by an address by Dr. Bothara.
The first speaker of the day was Dr. Atul Dadhe, CEO, ICOH. He focused on the endless opportunities in Pharmacy.
The next lecture was delivered by Prof. U. S. Bagul Faculty, College of Pharmacy, Jazan University, Saudi Arabia, on Go through life or grow through life .
After lunch, session resumed with a briefing by Dr. Kokare about STES society and academic culture, followed by an insight into new examination pattern by College Examination Officer Dr. P. B. Miniyar. The session concluded with passionate speech about challenges in pharmacy profession by Dr. M. D. Burande, President APTI.
The 2 nd day started at 10 am with visit of all the participating students to various laboratories. Students were divided into two groups. M. Pharm. Sem. I students visited Nano section and Advanced Pharmacology lab. Students were introduced to the sophisticated instruments like High Pressure Homogenizer, Particle size analyzer and lyophilizer in nanosection, where Powerlab, Stereotaxi and various routes of drug administration to animals were demonstrated in pharmacology lab. 1 st year B. Pharm. students were introduced with the pilot lab and animal house. The session lasted until 1:00 pm.
Dr.P.A.Thakurdesai started the afternoon session with an informative speech about connecting classroom to career. Dr. V. M. Kulkarni as Chief Guest for the valedictory function distributed certificate of academic excellence to top 3 rankers from every year. Dr. Kulkarni spoke on power of pharmacy profession and its scope.
