AIMS AND OBJECTIVES :
- To inculcate research culture among students.
- To encourage original and novel thinking.
- To provide an opportunity for expression of academic talent.
- To promote interaction among academia, R & D Institutes and Industries.
MODE OF SELECTION OF PROJECTS :
Projects will be selected through three stages
STAGE-I :
Zonal competition at Pune, Ahmednagar, Nashik Districts and University Campus on 26-29, September 2007.
STAGE-II:
Short listed students from STAGE-I will be required to display and present their Projects on 21-22, December 2007 at Pune University Campus for selection in Pune University Team.
Workshop for selected students on 8-9, January 2008.
STAGE-III:
The selected team at STAGE-II will be entitled to present their projects at AVISHKAR-2007 Inter University Research Festival to be held at S.N.D.T. University, Mumbai on 11-13, January 2008. |

GUIDELINES TO THE PARTICIPANTS |

Project can be in the form of live demonstration/models/posters and should be based on innovative ideas, in any given categories.
Each college/institution can send a maximum of two entries in each category, of their levels (UG/PG/Doctoral).
Maximum two participants in each entry, but one representative will present the project at the exhibition.
Last date for registration 20th September 2007 up to 5.00 pm.
Representative of the team and one accompanying person (guiding teacher or team member) will be provided local hospitality by the host institution.
All required basic infrastructural facilities like working space, electricity, water, tables, mounting boards, LCD projector, overhead projector etc., will be made available. For any special requirement, if any, participants should inform the coordinator well in advance.
All entries should be forwarded through the principal of the college/Head of the institution.
Registration is compulsory for all participants. There will be no registration fee.
Participants will be issued participation certificates from University of Pune.
Mounting boards (poster display boards) of size 1m x 1m will be made available.
All contestants are expected to give an oral /stage presentation about their project before a panel of judges appointed for the purpose.
Each oral/stage presentation will be given 8 minutes for presentation and 2 minutes for question and answers.
The decision of judges will be final and binding on all participants.
All the winning and runner teams will be informed about their selection on the same day.
Winning and runner teams from each category will be selected for participation in the Stage-II to be held at University of Pune, on 21st-22nd December 2007.
