INFRASTRUCTURE

Sinhgad Technical Education Society’s Smt. Kashibai Navale Insritute of Education has total 22 rooms. Thus learning culture at SKNIOE helps the student teacher to enrich by an array of academic, co-curricular and extra curricular inputs, in the form of practice teaching, seminars, workshops, internship programme, ICT training, etc.

Thus, the usage and importance of each infrastructural detail is described bellow:

OFFICE :
Smt. Kashibai Navale Insritute of Education has well equipped office, and has experienced office staff to administer the managerial duties in the college.

LIBRARY:
SKNIOE caters with the needs of B.Ed. as well as D. Ed. Student’s requirements regarding textbooks, reference books and other teaching aids like maps, etc. Library has more than 6000 books; which include textbooks as well as reference books. Library subscribes 10 journals and periodicals along with 05 newspapers.
To facilitate user friendliness and to save the precious time of our students, library has displays informative guide tags on shelves for easy access of books. Library can accommodate 40 students at a time and its separate reading hall too has the same capacity.
Well-qualified and experienced staff is always ready to help the users in finding related information within least time.
Thus, motto of our SKNIOE Library is
“Right book to the right reader at right time”.

SCIENCE LABORATORY:
Experimentation is of prime importance in the field of Science. Hence, experimentation is of great importance in today’s Science education in schools. Properly instructed and extensive experimentation increases trust and thirst for scientific views and attitude in students. SKNIOE has provided well-equipped science laboratory with apparatus and equipments which are useful for demonstrating experiments to the students of 5th to 10th standard. The equipments like test tubes, measuring cylinder, voltmeter, calorie meter, beakers, flasks, Vernier caliper, etc. The student teachers get a chance to practice the experiments before conducting the actual practical in schools. The student teachers many times bring their students for conducting experiments while their practice teaching. Thus, our science laboratory works like a hub for scientific experiments.

COMPUTER LABORATORY:
In today’s world, acquaintance with the latest technology and its usage is of prime importance. Therefore, to fulfill these new needs of our student teachers, spacious computer lab stocked with 20 computer systems supported by the latest software and accessories assures that the prospective teachers will be trained to use it effectively in teaching. The internet connectivity is meant to help teachers to utilize variety of audio-visual resources for preparing lessons and for reference work. With the use of internet, the student teachers as well as our lecturers make extensive use of internet facility to gain latest knowledge on their respective subjects for effective teaching.

PSYCHOLOGY LABORATORY :
“Chief method of procedure in Psychology is similar to that of other recognized sciences & that is experiments”.
Psychology of teaching and learning is a compulsory paper for B.Ed. as well as D.Ed. curriculum. So the importance to experimentation is very high. Psychological experiments helps the student teachers in knowing the psychology of the child and how to behave with the children. Experiments for B.Ed. include Transfer of training, Learning, Association, Retention, etc.
Psychology laboratory makes the place to conduct essential experiments in educational psychology. Aided with a variety of psychological tests, it gives the student teachers the first hand knowledge of the link between Psychology and human behaviour.

EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY CUM SEMINAR HALL :
This large hall easily accommodates more than 80 people. Variety of audio-visual presentation equipments ranging from projectors to TV and DVD player are available for use of the student teachers to develop their skills of presentation. Seminars on various topics can be organized in this hall. The seminars can be made more effective and presentable with the various technical aids like OHB, TV, DVD players, etc.

LARGE MULTIPURPOSE HALL :
Formal gatherings, exhibitions, symposia, seminars, guest lectures, group work and some extra curricular activities like annual functions, etc. can be conducted in this spacious hall accommodating more than 150 people at a time.
The adjacent photos prove the hall’s ‘multipurpose’ nature.

CLASSROOM FACILITIES :
SKNIORE has well equipped, well-ventilated classrooms for conducting general lectures. Under the guidance of the competent staff, academic work is conducted by making use of variety of physical amenities. There are two well-equipped classrooms and three rooms for subject-methods.
The separate storeroom is equipped with provisions for variety of teaching-learning resources specially needed for lesson preparation by student teachers.
The Subject rooms work like ‘Subject laboratories’. The method students come together for guidance and related activities. These subject rooms are equipped with the respective teaching aids too.
The B.Ed. course includes theory and ample practical work in the form of individual and group activities throughout the year. All infrastructures are ready to cater to the needs of the students in satisfactory manner. Sinhgad City School in the same campus, other schools of the Sinhgad Technical Education Society and some outside schools are available to conduct practice teaching.

HOSTEL ACCOMODATION:
Need and thirst for knowledge is so important and necessary, that students stay away from their homes for education, SKNIOE thus provides homely hostel facility to make them feel at home and thus provides atmosphere for studying hard.

SPORTS FACILITY:
Huge playground is available on the campus to help the students in developing their physical strength and nurture their body with different sports like cricket, basketball, tennis, kho-kho, volleyball and so on. Gymkhana also invites the students to build their sporting spirit. Games room is also available in SKNIOE College and is equipped with various instruments.
The games room has instruments like Lezim, dumbbells, etc.

HEALTH SERVICES :
The health service centre is available at the college campus of the STES. This provides a full general practitioners service geared to the needs of the students and the staff of the college.

CANTEEN FACILITY :
Canteen is available at the STES campus to satiate their appetite with nutritious and hygienic food. Canteen facility serves like a boon to the hostel students.

PARKING FACILITY:
STES campus has spacious and secured parking facility for staff, visitor’s and student’s two and four wheeler vehicles.

BANKING FACILITY:
To cater the financial needs and services of the students as well as the staff, STES campus has separate extension branch of a renowned nationalised bank.
