    Project Report

The students who are enrolled for Post Graduate programmes and Diploma Programs are required to undertake the project work in the Industry / Organization (including where the candidate is employed) during 4th Semester for PG Courses and 2nd Semester for Diploma Courses. The project report must be submitted before the end of the 4th Semester and 2nd Semester respectively for PG and Diploma Courses. Project Report is mandatory for qualifying for the final examination and carries weightage for evaluation during Viva. The Project Report should be duly certified by the concerned supervisor of the Organization and Director of SIOM-DEC. The necessary guidance will be provided to all the students in respect of the topic, specialization, research methodology and the type of Industry for carrying out the Project Work.

The length of the typed Project Report should be minimum 50 pages (minimum 30,000 words). The Project Report carries 70 marks and the Viva-voce thereon carries 30 marks.

1) Students of Post Graduate Courses in Management are required to submit project report at the end of 2nd year in 4th Semester. Similarly, students of Diploma in Management are required to submit project report at the end of 1st year in II Semester.

2) All possible assistance will be provided to students who desire to have project on behalf of the Institute. We are giving detailed guidelines for every student for preparation of project report.

3) Student who is already in employment, can select project of his choice, after consulting the study centre in-charge, in his own specialization area. If he/she wants further guidance / assistance, it will be provided.

4)As far as possible, student should select project work within his/her area of specialization.

5) Project work is important part of curriculum and carries weightage in evaluation system. Project report with viva has weightage of entire one subject and unless project report is completed course is incomplete. Therefore, completing of project work and viva voce of project is equally important.

6)Research Methodology is important element of project work. Therefore, it is essential that student should get themselves acquainted with research methodology.

7)Student should note that they should not collect data from various websites and put together in project. It is expected that student should put his own effort in project work and carry out independent field work.

8) If any questionnaire is prepared for field work, it should be appended with project report.
9) Primary data while carrying out field work, various table, chart, graphical presentation, summary, conclusion, recommendations etc. are important part of any project report
