Dr Kishor S. Jain
was born on 24 Feb.1960 in, Maharashtra, India. He completed
his B. Pharm in 1980 from Bombay University, Bombay and
M.Pharm (Pharm. Chemistry) in 1982 & Ph.D (Pharm.
Chemistry) in 1991 from Gujrat University, Ahmedabad,
India. Thereafter, he joined L. M. College of Pharmacy,
Ahemdabad as Asstt. Professor. Presently, he holds the
post of Principal & Professor of Medicinal Chemistry
at Sinhgad College of Pharmacy, Vadgaon, Pune.
Dr Jain holds good Industrial experience also (10 years).
Earlier, he was Vice-President (R&D) of Dishman Pharmaceuticals
& Chemicals Ltd., Ahmedabad for 4 years.
He has more than 80 research publications to his credit.
His areas of research include N.D.D.R. involving Rational
Drugdesign, synthesis and evaluation of novel Antimalarial,
Antihyperlipedimeic, Antihypertensive, Anticancer and
Antiulcer agents. He also has considerable work in the
field of Green Chemistry involving Microwave based Chemical
Synthesis & Phase Transfer Catalysis. He is also involved
in Chemical Process development of API & specialty
fine chemicals, Library synthesis, Custom synthesis etc.
He is a recognized P.G. & Ph.D guide for three Universities.
Presently 3 Ph.D & 8 M.Pharm. students are working
under his guidance.
He is currently Member of American Chemical Society (ACS),
Life-Member of Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA),
Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE), Association
of Pharmacy Teachers of India (APTI), and Member of Board
of Studies & Faculty of Pharmacy, Pune, University.
He is also the Joint Secretary of the IPA-Pune Branch
and Member of National Executive Council of APTI. |
