1. What is the B. Pharmacy Course all about?

It is involves subjects related to manufacturing of drugs right from its discovery, development, action, safety, formulation, use, quality control, packaging, storage, marketing, etc. 

2. Who should think about taking the B. Pharmacy Course?

Any student who is interested in subjects related to life sciences such as Anatomy and Physiology, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry and Microbiology will find this curriculum to be very interesting and challenging at the same time.

3. What is the duration of the B. Pharmacy Course?

It is a Four Year Professional course with one month industry training to be completed during the course period.

5. Who is eligible for admission to the B. Pharmacy Course?
After XIIth Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) of State Board one can opt for any of the two courses, namely Diploma (D.Pharm.) and Degree (B.Pharm). 
However, the Diploma Students can also be included in Degree course directly in Second Year B.Pharm.

6. What is the admission procedure for entrance into Pharmacy College?
The Directorate of Technical Education (Maharashtra) publishes a notification in the local newspapers regarding dates for centralized admission procedure. One single form is given to each candidate along with a brochure enlisting various pharmacy colleges in Maharashtra. The candidate has to fill in his/her preferences for college (Merit/Payment seats). Admissions will be allotted based on Merit.

In the rapidly changing global scenario and the implementation of GATT & TRIPS in India, now a matter of only a couple of years, the pharmaceutical industry and professionals will play a vital role in shaping up our National economy. This new decade is thus, bound to have an ever growing demand of pharmacy professionals not only in the country, but even worldwide. Anticipating this demand the Government has taken special steps to boost this unique discipline having a blend of both, Technology, as well as, Health-sciences.
