1. What are the courses offered by the college?

Ans:- The college offers B. Pharmacy, D. Pharmacy courses.

2. Who is eligible to do B. Pharm./ D. Pharm.?

Ans:- For D. Pharm., the candidate should have passed HSC (Std. XII)or equivalent examination with Physics, chemistry, biology or mathematics and English.

Admissions through Centralised Process:
For B. Pharm., the candidate should have passed HSC (std. XII) or equivalent examination with minimum 50 % marks (45 % for backward class candidate) together in Physics, chemistry, biology or mathematics in same attempt along with English as one of the subject and should have passed MHT-CET 2005 conducted by competent authority. For the vacancy seats available after centralised allotment process (CAP) round and management quota seats, passing MHT-CET 2005 is not compulsory. (This is applicable as per admission rules for Year 2005 - 06 only. Eligibility criteria may change from year to year).

3. What is the duration of Degree and Diploma courses in Pharmacy?

Ans:- Degree in Pharmacy is a 4 yrs. programme whereas Diploma in Pharmacy is a 2yrs. programme.

4. Is any kind of professional training necessary for the completion of B. Pharm./D. Pharm?

Ans:- Yes, on successful completion of D. Pharm. one requires to undergo 3 months long training in dispensing of drugs at a retail outlet, while one month industrial training is mandatory for B. Pharm. This, the students may undergo during their summer/ Diwali vacation in third or final year of B. Pharm course.

5. How far is the college from Pune and Mumbai?

Ans:- The college is situated at Kusgaon (Bk), Lonavala, about 64 km. from Pune and 128 km from Mumbai.

6. What means of commuting are available from Pune & Mumbai to Lonavala?

Ans:- Lonavala is well connected by state transport buses and trains from both Pune and Mumbai. The Local trains are frequently available from Pune.

7. What is the means of commuting from Lonavala bus stand & Railway Station to the College and viceversa?

Ans:- Local S. T. bus starts from Lonavala bus stand at around 9:00 a.m. & proceeds via station to the college. In the evening at 5:30 p.m. bus leaves the college for bus stand & station. Rickshows are also available.

8. What are the fees for B. Pharm. / D. Pharm. Courses?

Ans:- The Annual tuition and other fees when combined, for the academic year 2005-06, comes out to be as under:-
For B. Pharm.:- app. Rs. 45,000/-
For D. Pharm.:- app. Rs.28, 000/-

Note - The above fees may vary as per the directives of state Govt.

9. What are the means of accommodation for students?

Ans:- The STES Lonavala is residential Campus and therefore provides separate hostel facility for Girls & Boys along with mess.

10. Is the college recognized by concerned authorities?

Ans:- Yes, B. Pharm Course is approved by various bodies like All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), recognised by Govt. of Maharashtra, Directorate of Technical Education M. S. Mumbai (DTEMS) and is affiliated to Pune University.

D. Pharm Course is approved by various bodies like All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), recognised by Govt. of Maharashtra, Directorate of Technical Education M. S. Mumbai (DTEMS) and is affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE), Mumbai.

11. Is access to Internet available in Lonavala STES Campus?

Ans:- Yes, the college has Broad Band Internet facility in its computer centre.

12. What is the climate of Lonavala?

Ans:- Lonavala is one of the most beautiful and popular hill station and health resort in the Maharashtra. It is located at an altitude of 625 mtrs. in the ranges of Sahyadri and known for its pleasant climate through out the year.

13. What is the admission procedure for D. Pharm. & B. Pharm. Courses?

Ans:- The college releases its admission notification in the leading newspapers in the month of June, soon after the declaration of HSC results. Applications are invited and the admission process usually begins in the month of June. The application forms and rules for the admission are available in the PDF form under the link Admission

14. What documents do I need to produce if I am NRI/Out of Maharashtra State (OMS) candidate?

Ans:- You need to produce your mark sheet of Qualifying examination, school/college transfer certificate, domicile certificate( in case of OMS) and proof of non-resident Indian & valid Indian passport (in case of NRI) for confirmation of the admission

15. What is the examination pattern for B. Pharmacy?

Ans:- Pune University conducts annual practical and theory examination at the end of the each academic year, while the college conducts 3 sessional exams throughout the year. 80 marks are assigned for the University exam and the internal exams (sessional exam.) account for 20 marks.

16. How many subjects does one study each year?

Ans:- There are 6 and 7 subjects per year in D. Pharm. and B. Pharm courses respectively.

17. Are experiments on animals present in the curriculum of B. Pharm?
