| Eligibility for Diploma In Pharmacy
: |
| |
a) The minimum qualification
for admission to Diploma in Pharmacy is that the candidate.
of Indian Nationality should have passed in any of the following
examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics.
HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary
& Higher Education or its equivalent examination.
OR Intermediate examination in science.
OR The first year of three year degree course in science.
OR Any other qualification approved by Pharmacy Council of India
as equivalent to any of the above examinations.

| Role of Admission Committee : |
| |
The Admission Committee appointed
by Sinhgad Technical Education Society and headed by the president
of Sinhgad Technical Education Society Pune, or his nominee
shall be the sole authority to invite application, process them,
declare schedule for admission process and effect admission
as per the directives given through the Government Resolution,
(dated 16th April 2003.) The schedule of admission is annexure
(Annex-I)
Out of the state students admitted to first year D.Pharm are
required to apply for eligibility along with the prescribed
fees to the board before the due date. The eligibility fees
and the eligibility forms should be submitted in the college
office as per the date notified. The students are also required
to pay enrollment fees to the board to get the permanent registration
number.
All the admission made to the first year will be provisional
and shall be subsequently confirmed only on grant of eligibility
by MSBTE Mumbai. The college authorities will not be responsible
for non- grant of eligibility by the board. The students provisionally
admitted: if declared non eligible by the board, his admission
will be cancelled immediately and fees paid by him shall not
be refunded.

The various provisions for
the seats under the purview of admission committee shall be
within the scope of resolution made by the State Government
(dated 16th April 2003.) |

| Reservation for backward class Candidates: |
| |
The seats reserved for the
backward class candidates shall claim the category to which
they belong at the time of application. |

| Reservation for female candidate : |
| |
As per the provisions in Maharashtra State
Government Resolution No. GEC 1000/(123/2000)/Tech. Edu.I. Dated
17th April, 2000, 30% seats of sanctioned intake capacity shall
be reserved for female candidates in all Government, Non government-Aided,
University managed, Unaided Pharmacy College and University
Departments. This reservation shall be within all categories
like open, SC, ST, VJNT, NTI, NT2, NT3 and OBC. If requisite
numbers of female candidates are not available for admission
in any of the backward class categories then such vacant seats
shall be filled by male candidates belonging to the respective
category. |

| Assignment of merit number : |
| |
Each candidate who has submitted application
form on or before the last date of submission of application
form will be assigned Merit Number based on the following criteria.
Marks obtained at H.S.C. (Std. XII) or equivalent qualifying
examination in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology or
Mathematics shall be treated as the merit of the candidate. |

| Relative merit in case of tie : |
| |
In the case of candidates
securing equal number of marks, their relative merit will be
fixed on the basis of the following order of preference given
below.
a) A candidate passing the qualifying examination with higher
marks out of 100 in SSC at the qualifying examination.
b) A candidate passing the qualifying examination with higher
marks out of 100 in Biology /Mathematics at the qualifying examination.
c) A candidate passing the qualifying examination with higher
marks out of 100 in Physics at the qualifying examination, examination
with Mathematics as one of the subject at the qualifying examination.

| |
Submission of caste validity certificate for backward
class category candidates |
| |
The backward class category candidates
are given the following concession only in respect of caste
validity certificate.
Backward class category candidates reporting for admission without
caste validity certificate will be offered admission on the
condition that:
They submit the caste validity certificate within 12 weeks from
the date of admission, failing to which the candidate’s
admission will stand cancelled without any refund of fees.
They should produce a copy of caste certificate and the proof
of application made for procuring caste validity certificate.

| Vacancies within the sanctioned intake in the college
after the “cut of date” : |
| |
Any vacancies within the sanctioned intake
after the cut off date of admission will be notified by the
admission committee and will be filled by inter-se-merit for
the eligible candidates |

| Reporting to the admission committee : |
| |
The candidates shall report
personally to the admission committee on the date and time indicated
by the college, with all original certificates needed to substantiate
the claims made in the application regarding eligibility and
reservation.
If a candidate is unable to produce leaving certificate, HSC
(STD XII) mark sheet at the time of admission on account of
admission already secured to some other institution, he or she
shall produce a certificate from the head of the institution
where he or she has been admitted to a particular date and hence
original certificates have been retained in that institution.
The candidates shall produce the attested copies of these two
certificates, duly attested by the head of concerned institution.
The candidates, who submit a certificate from head of the institution
as above, shall be required to pay the fees immediately at the
time of admission.
The candidate will have to submit the required original certificates
to the college within a time limit allowed by the admission
committee, which shall not be more than 4 working days after
the date of payment of fees.
If such candidate fails to submit the necessary certificates
within the allowed time limit, the admission shall be treated
as cancelled. Refund of fees shall not be applicable to such
candidates.
If any candidate fails to report in person or fails to depute
authorized representative for scrutiny of his or her application
and subsequent offer of admission according to inter-se-merit,
at the time and date prescribed for him or her, he or she will
forfeit claim for admission to Diploma in Pharmacy and seat
will be offered to the next eligible candidate on the merit
list. After the cut off date for admission candidate shall not
be entertained on any ground whatsoever.

| Mode of Payment : |
| |
The candidate who has been
offered admission by paying the prescribed tuition fees in the
form of D.D. (Demand Draft) Pay Order/Banker’s Cheque
of any scheduled bank in favour of Principal Sinhgad College
of Pharmacy (Polytechnic), payable at Pune.
.
No other mode of payment shall be permitted. However, admission
shall be considered as final only after submission of necessary
documents.

| Attestation : |
| |
| The copies of certificates or documents
attached to the application form should be attested by the approved
Principal of the college or Gazette Officer or Special Executive
Magistrate or Head Master of Secondary School or Teaching staff
of a government college/Polytechnic not below the rank of a
lecturer. Original certificates should not be attached to the
application.
The candidates shall attach the entire required certificate
as mentioned in these rules and enumerate the same in the given
format. The candidates shall not attach a copy of any other
certificate which is not asked for under these rules such as
certificates for participation in sports, cultural events etc.

| Fees cancellation and refund : |
| |
Fees prescribed: the annual
tuition fees and other fees for the candidates will be, as recommended
by the EIRA, established by government of Maharashtra.
(Vide G.R.No.USG/2003)/ (33/03)/I/ 9T.-4 dated 16 th April 2003.)

| Caution money : |
| |
Caution money/ deposits received from the
students shall be refunded after successful completion of the
course or after cancellation of the admission. Unless there
is any recovery, no deduction shall be made from the caution
money deposit. However, the amount of caution money deposit
shall be transferred to Students Aid Fund, if candidate does
not apply for refund within 3 complete account years after the
student actually leaves the institution; or within 3 complete
account years after the date of successful completion of the
course, whichever is earlier. |

| Cancellation of Admission : |
| |
• The candidate should have taken
admission by paying necessary tuition fee and should have submitted
original certificates before he/she applies for cancellation.
In case candidate fails to submit any of the original documents
within the allowed time limit, the admission shall be treated
as cancelled. Refund of fees shall not be applicable to such
candidates.
• If the candidate desires to cancel his or her admission
for any reason whatsoever during the admission process, he or
she shall be allowed to do so and it shall be presumed that
admission is cancelled at that stage.
• The candidate desirous of canceling admission shall
apply for cancellation in Proforma-C.
• The candidate desirous of canceling admission shall
forfeit the candidature and will no longer be considered for
the admission offered by the admission committee during the
current year and fees shall be refunded to the candidate after
deducting an amount as prescribed in these rules.
• If during the course of studies, a candidate desires
to discontinue studies for any reason whatsoever, he or she
can cancel admission at that stage. The principal shall issue
college leaving certificate and fees shall be refunded as provided
in these rules.
• If the admission is cancelled on or before the completion
of first term of the academic year, the original school or college
leaving certificate on the strength of which a candidate was
admitted shall be returned.
• If the admission is cancelled after the completion of
first term of the year, the leaving certificate from the college
will be issued.
• A true copy of the original school or college leaving
certificate retained by the institute may be issued, if requested
thereof by the candidate, duly attested by the head of the institute.

| Refund of fees in case of cancellation : |
| |
• The candidate who has been provisionally
admitted may cancel admission by submitting an application in
duplicate, in the prescribe pro forma – M and may request
for refund of fees. The refund of Fees as applicable shall be
made in due course. It is made clear that such application for
cancellation will be considered if and only if the admission
is confirmed by paying the prescribe tuition fee and other fees
in full and by submitting the original documents. Refund shall
be made after deduction of the cancellation charges as shown
below:
1. In the event of student/ candidate withdrawing before the
starting of the course, wait-listed candidates should be given
admission against the vacant seat. The entire fee collected
from the student, after a deduction of the processing fee of
not more than Rs. 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) shall be
refunded and return by the institution to the student/candidate
withdrawing from the programme.
2. Should a student leave after joining the course and if the
seat consequently falling vacant has been filled by another
candidate by the last date of admission, the institution must
return the fee collected with proportionate deduction of monthly
fee and proportionate hostel rent, where applicable.
Note: In case of candidates belonging to SC / ST / VJ / NT-B
/ NT-C / NT- D / OBC / SBC who have secured a seat in Govt.
Aided Polytechnic, the amount specified above is to be levied
on the candidates as cancellation charges on cancellation of
admission before handing over the original certificates.

| Miscellaneous: |
1) Medium of instruction: The medium for
instruction Diploma in Pharmacy is English.
2) Physical Fitness: Every admitted candidate will have to undergo
the compulsory medical examination by the appropriate medical
authority appointed by the college for ascertaining the physical
fitness of the candidate. The report of medical authority shall
be submitted to the board.
Head of Institution may verify that antecedents of any candidate
through the appropriate police authority. The report received
from police authority shall be submitted to appropriate authority
for further necessary action.

Transfer after one year:
It is possible within the colleges affiliated to MSBTE provided
one can produce a no objection certificate from the earlier institute
& one can have passed in all subjects in the examinations
without any backlog. Also permission from MSBTE is required for
such transfer.
Undertaking:
All candidates who have applied for admission shall submit the
undertaking along with the admission form (Performa B).
