“Information Technology deals with the use of electronic computers and computer software to convert, store, protect, process, transmit, and securely retrieve information. India in recent years has made tremendous advancement in IT industry and has been the major source of revenue and employment. As such, this branch of engineering plays major role in creating skilled human resource required by IT industry. The major strength of the department is its young, energetic faculty. Two faculty have completed PhD. Five faculty are completing PhD. The department has well equipped computing laboratories with all latest branded PCs, business class furniture, ambience and safety measures. The Sinhgad group of institutes is having close interaction with leading IT companies such as Infosys, Persistent, Cognizant etc. for project sponsorship, faculty development and campus recruitment drive. The first batch passed out in the year 2009 and our placement has been excellent through central placement drive held by Sinhgad institutes. Students are placed in companies like Infosys, Accenture, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, Atos, I-nautix, TCS & Persistent etc.

To develop the skills of students such as team building, leadership and organizational skill, communication skills, the department encourages the students to organize intercollegiate competition events, one of it is Techtonic, in which hundreds of students from various engineering colleges participate every year.
