In the late 90s, the Information Technology department was one of only two departments in UoP to offer BE (IT) course to engineering aspirants. Today, the department offers this course to 120 students. In addition, the department offers a post graduate course in IT with an intake of 18 students. State of the art laboratory infrastructure is provided in the department to conduct various curricula requirements. All the laboratories are networked, power backed and equipped with multimedia devices for content delivery.

Since inception, the department has maintained the tradition of excellent academic track record. We have produced 29 University toppers in last 12 years. The department is accredited by NBA twice for the period of three & two years respectively.

The department has received research funding for about 16 Lakhs in last three years. Major research thrust areas of the department are wireless communication, wireless sensor networks, multimedia data processing, cloud computing and internet of things.

The I.T. curriculum shares fundamental courses of computer engineering syllabi and mainly focuses on new paradigms of the IT industries i.e. Software management, software engineering, software quality control, testing and high-end technologies. The course is designed to provide skill set for the role of a leader in the IT industries.....

  • The department has tie-up with NVIDIA & EMC Corporation through which students get exposure to the recent technologies like Cloud computing & Big Data. The institute has a tie-up with Microsoft through Microsoft campus agreement which makes all Microsoft servers, operating systems and tools readily available for students to update their knowledge regarding current technologies.
