The department of Production Engineering was established in 1998 with an intake of 60 students to impart skills and expertise in the areas of design, manufacturing, automation and management. The students of this department always undertake live projects in various industries as a part of their curriculum. This practice of collaborative work with industry is maintained since inception of the department. The department has very good industrial interaction through these projects and industrial visits. The Department has received more than Rs 10 Lakhs in funding to carry out research in various fields.

The department provides opportunities to participate in various academic, co- curricular, extracurricular and placement activities to help the students to nurture and fulfill their dreams. The average result of the students of the department is 85 % and every year around 20 students are in the list of University rank. The students of the department have been a part of the SCOE BAJA SAE team, which won the first prize of rupees one Lakh at the BAJA SAE 2014 event. The department organizes various activities through the student chapters like IIPE, ASM and IIW. One such activity is PRODZINE which is a ‘National Level Paper Presentation Competition conducted every year to give a platform to the students to showcase their skills.
