As a part of curriculum activities one day industrial visit to Akriti Pharmaceutical PVT LTD at Jejuri, on 29th September 2017, was organized for final year students.
Dr. Amol Tagalpallewar and Prof. U.S. Bagul along with 60 students of B. Pharm final year visited the company. Around 11.00 am we reached the company where Mr. B.S. Sinha (GM Operation), Kumar Gaurav (Factory Manager) and Mr. Vyavhare (Production Manager) received us and took at their conference hall where they offered tea and snacks.
The students were divided into three batches each of 20 students and arranged the visit in three different departments like Sterile Manufacturing, Quality control and Production of Solid Oral, Liquid Oral and semisolid Dosage form. Mr. B. S. Sinha showed their production area, in production area they have separate section for each equipment like Fludized Bed Dryer, Rapid mixer granulator, Octagonal blender, Advanced Tablet compression machine connected with metal detector.
In quality control department, Mr. Sinha explained the Advanced Stability chambers available as per ICH Guidelines and different equipment available in the quality control lab like HPLC, GC, FTIR and UV. The critical part of sterile product was further explained along with regulatory constrained for approval process. The company has the strong export in Srilanka, Taiwan and many other countries.
In production and sterile area Mr. Kumar Gaurav and Mr Vyavhare explained the Central stores and flow of material in the batch. They showed the sample standard operating procedure to the student and movement of raw material. The different component like Pass Box, HVAC, Interlocking System, Positive Pressure in the Aseptic Area, vials used for different regulatory bodies were showed to the student. They showed the production and packaging line also.
At the end of visit, further queries were discussed in the conference hall. Mr. Sinha and Kumar Gaurav happily satisfied all the queries raised by the students. Around 2.pm visit was concluded with thanks to Mr. B. S. Sinha and his team.
After this visit we all proceeded to Jejuri Temple at 3.00pm and finished by 4.00 pm. Thereafter we had a lunch on the way back around 4.30 pm. followed by return journey and arrived back at 7.00 pm in the SIOP campus.
I am sure this visit will definitely consolidate student�s theoretical knowledge to blend with practical approaches.

The different component like Pass Box, HVAC, Interlocking System, Positive Pressure in the Aseptic Area, vials used for different regulatory bodies were showed to the student.
By the end the further queries were discussed in the conference hall. Mr. Sinha and Kumar Gaurav were happy with the queries raised and curiosity of student. Overall the response from the company people were excellent.
A batch of 41M.Pharm Students First and Third Semester with 2 faculty members namely Prof. S. V. Shinde, Prof. V. T. Gawande visited the industry along with a short program of �Ranjangaon Mahaganpati Darshan�. The group of students along with faculty members departed from the college at 10.00 am via Bus and reached at Ranjangaon Mahaganpati for at 12.30 pm followed by lunch till 2.30 pm. at Industry we reached at 3.00 pm and continued till 5.30 pm
The visit included the survey of various departments of the Muralikrishna Pharma Ltd. comprising of
Production unit, raw material, quality control and quality assurance department. Mr. Ram. Theurkar, HR Department welcomed SIOP students and staff, he enlighten us regarding the profile of Muralikrishna Pharma Ltd. Mrs. Ashwini, Production Officer, enlightens the students regarding manufacturing and processing details of various manufacturing units and few of the distinguished and exclusive techniques of manufacturing of pharmaceutical products undertaken by the company. Students were demonstrated various equipments in the production unit like Extruders, Spheronisers, tray dryer and Fluidized Bed Dryer (shown both lab scale and large scale equipments) for pellatalisation process.
Head, Q.A. /Q.C. Dept. welcomed SIOP students and staff and gave brief introduction to quality control, IPQC and tests carried out in the manufacturing area was given. The QC department was comprised of various instruments like UV, HPLC, stability chamber, Karlfischers apparatus, and dissolution apparatus with single vessel especially for R & D etc. A brief introduction to the above instruments was given. In raw material department details about storage conditions as per the requirement, dispensing process for raw material including API to the manufacturing unit was demonstrated as well details of sampling process for liquid as well solid material was explain along with SOP�s. Also they shown various documents maintained by the company for quality assurance. Thus it turned out to be a great experienced, full of new and advanced learning regarding this industry.
All the students of 1st year M. Pharm along with Mrs Snehal Kane visited Rubby hall clinical research centre on 5th March 2016 at 12.15pm.
Initially Dr Bhalerao, head of the research centre introduced about the clinical research centre and gave the information about Rubby hall as a service provider in the health care sector. He highlighted all the facilities available with the Rubby hall and how it is useful for the people. He introduced various different terms like medical tourism, bariatric surgery etc.
Then Dr Bhalerao gave a brief introduction about the course they run on clinical trial. It�s a course of 6 months which is divided in 2 sections of clinical trial namely operational work and database work. So 3months students get training on field and 3 months about database system.
After this Mrs Shruti gave full introduction about the clinical trial.
A batch of 13 M.Pharm - 3rd semester students and 2 faculty members - Prof. S.V.Shinde, Prof. S.Y.Kane visited the industry along with a short program of �Balaji Darshan�. The group departed from the college at 8.30 am via Bus and reached at Shirval MIDC at 10.00 am and continued till 12.00 noon.
The visit included the survey of various departments of the Bal Pharma Ltd. comprising of production unit, quality control and quality assurance department. Mr. B.K.Wagh - HR Department welcomed SIOP students and staff, he briefed about the profile of Bal Pharma Ltd. Mr.Sainy -Production Officer, explained the students the manufacturing and processing details of various and few of the distinguished and exclusive techniques of manufacturing of pharmaceutical products undertaken by the company. Students were demonstrated various equipments in the production unit like FFS machine for SVP/LVP, packaging process.
Head, Q.A./Q.C. Dept. welcomed SIOP students and staff and gave a brief overview to quality control, IPQC and tests carried out in the manufacturing area was given. The QC department comprised of various instruments like UV, HPLC, Total count analyser, liquid particle counter system etc. A brief introduction to the above instruments was given. It turned out to be a great experienced, full of new and advanced learning regarding this industry.
The group undertook Balaji Darshan at around 12.30 pm. This was followed by departure to the college.

A batch of 48 (third and final year) students and 3 faculty members namely Prof. Sachin Potawale, Prof. Santosh Kumbhar and Prof. S. V. Shinde visited the industry along with a short program of 'Hyderabad Darshan'. The group of students along with faculty members departed from the Hotel at 9.00 am via Bus and reached industry at 10.30 am. The visit to the IIL began at 11.00 am and continued till 1.30 pm. The visit included the survey of various departments of the IIL.IIL is a Semi government Company. IIL has its Vaccines brand under the name of Raksha for Veterinary products and Abhay for Human products. The students were guided by Dr. Prasad Nagapure, Dr. Kundan, and Head of the dept. Dr. V Suryaprasad (Veterinary Services Dept) who enlightens the students regarding the profile of the IIL and regarding various manufacturing and processing details of vaccines manufacturing unit and few of the distinguished and exclusive techniques of manufacturing of vaccines undertaken by the company. The visit concluded at 1.30 pm. Thus along with the cooperation extended by this institute, hospitality was also witness during this visit. The industrial visit thus gave an insight to the students of Third and Final Year B. Pharm regarding the immunobiological industry, its working. Thus it turned out to be a great experienced, full of new and advanced learning regarding this industry.

The visit included the survey of various departments of the Nulife Pharmaceuticals Ltd. comprising of production unit, quality control and quality assurance department. Mrs. Ruchira Dharmadhikari, HR Department welcomed SIOP students and staff, she enlighten us regarding the profile of Nulife Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Mr. Prashant Saste, Production Officer, enlightens the students regarding manufacturing and processing details of various manufacturing units and few of the distinguished and exclusive techniques of manufacturing of pharmaceutical products undertaken by the company. Students were demonstrated various equipments in the production unit like tablet punching machine, capsule filling machine, fluidized bed dryer, tablet coating machine, octagonal blender.
Mr. Sudhir Pandya, Head, Q.A./Q.C. Dept. welcomed SIOP students and staff, he enlighten us regarding the profile of Nulife Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Introduction to quality control, IPQC and tests carried out in the manufacturing area was given. The QC department was comprised of various instruments like UV, HPLC, IR etc. A brief introduction to the above instruments was given. Thus it turned out to be a great experienced, full of new and advanced learning regarding this industry. Pratishirdi Darshan was undertaken at 2.15 am till 4.0 pm followed by departure to the college.
