Nursing requires competencies in various areas and the most important area is causality. A study was conducted to assess the competencies in casualty area with the use of opinionnaire Scale.Method: Descriptive survey was carried out among 50 staff nurses who had experience of working in causality with the help of Purposive Sampling technique. Results showed that for the domain of management of health and illness 86.44% agreed,11.77% not sure and 1.77% were not agree. For the domain airway, breathing and circulation 85.42% agreed,12.28% not sure and 2.28% were not agree. For the domain skin and wound care 78.8% agreed,17.2% not sure and 4% were not agree. For the domain Trauma care 65% agreed, 29% not sure and 6% were not agree. on Miscellaneous aspect like removal of foreign body(80% agreed), handling relatives(78% agreed),counselling of patient and family(78% agreed), assist in various invasive procedure(78% agreed) and Admission and transfer(86% agreed).
